St. Mary's Appoints Ms. Jensen-Derrig as Elementary Principal

We are proud to announce that the process of selecting a new elementary school principal is complete and wishes to congratulate Ms. Juli Jensen-Derrig on her appointment. Mrs. Jensen-Derrig has been a dedicated educator in our school for the past 17 years. She has gained the reputation of being fair, a strong communicator, and as a leader who places the needs of the students as her number one priority. Ms. Jensen-Derrig will begin the transition immediately and she is looking forward to the opportunity to serve the students, parents, and staff. I believe that Ms. Jensen-Derrig will play a vital role in building on the mission and traditions of our school. I am looking forward to a positive 2017-18 school year across our campus. I am confident in Mrs. Jensen-Derrig’s experience as a leader and know that as a community you will welcome and support her.

Throughout the process nearly 35 applications were received and reviewed. Of the candidates, 5 were selected to be interviewed. A committee, comprised of the Head of School, Head of the School Board, 1 teacher, the Director of Admissions, and two parents, conducted interviews on July 18th. The final candidate held a second interview with Fr. Frank Lawlor on Thursday the 20th and was then approved by the Superintendent of Schools on Friday the 21st.
